The California Wild Horse

And Burro Show

The,

"Ken Partridge Green Horse Memorial High Point Saddle"

"Moonie"Saddle Maker, Ken Partridge, with his beloved mustang, "Moonie."

"Moonie was foaled in 1997 in the Twin Peaks area of Lassen County, California. She was captured in September of 1999. The BLM brought about 65 head of horses to Bishop. I went with a friend to look at the them. I picked Moonie as the best horse under my criteria, she was 3 and had good size. We took her and two others to our ranch. When we turned her loose, she used up all of the corral height."

"Moonie taught me patience and increased my understanding of horses. We spent a lot of time with her. We ground drove her until we had complete control. I then rode her. She never offered to buck but she would kick. I rode her in the Bishop Show and intended to keep going. Her leg went bad and we had to put her down. It was a bad day in my life."

"Moonie had a big impact on me and many people that met her. Through her, I became involved with this show. She is responsible for the saddle program that we are now enjoying."
