Hi I'm Dick Postma and thanks for taking the time to view my home page. I am a retired police officer, LAPD, and now work for various studios doing traffic control on the streets of LA Using my Harley. My hobbies include motorcycles, dirt bike racing, ( Dist. 37 AMA, and S.C.O.R.E.), amateur radio, kayaking, and RVing. My ham call sign is KO6DL, my wife Leona is also a ham and her call sign is KE6GUA

In July of 1997 Leona and I took a little Hike over the Chilkoot Trail. "The Chilkoot Trail" is the saga of Leona & I and how we spent our 1997 vacation , hiking the Chilkoot Trail. I hope you enjoy reading about our adventure, several photos have been included.

After the hike over the Chilkoot Trail I became interested in the gold rush of 1898 -99. Since I had traveled the first part of the trail used by the gold miners I thought it would be fun to continue on down the Yukon River and beyond. So I bought a kayak and the fun began. To gain experience I went to Montana, where I was raise, and kayaked 150 miles on the Missouri River from its headwaters to Greatfalls with my old friend Dave Droppers. This is the story, "Kayaking in the Shadows of Lewis and Clark".

Late in June 1999 I set off on my adventure to kayak the Yukon River from Whitehorse Y.T to the Bearing Sea. Although I did not make it all the way to the Bering Sea I did complete 1350 miles. "Kayaking the Yukon river is a short overview of the adventure.

I have a 46 minute video tape of my adventure. I will make it available to any one who is interested. If inertested send me a email with your mailing address & I will provide you with mine. The cost is $15.00 which includes postage. (USA)

My main intent is to put together a list of several links that relate to the hobbies and intrest that I enjoy, Motorcycles, amatuer radio, kayaking, and RVing. some other things are thrown in just for fun,

I am using Adobes' GoLive5 as the editing program and viewed in Microsoft internet Explore
