HRD TNDM started out its life as a 1986 and 1/2 Nissan Pickup Truck. It went through various stages as the LOUDEST TRUCK in the Antelope Valley and a number of very large speaker installations. All this made possible by his working in a pawn shop.
But noise was not the only impact patrick had in mind. Reaching for a vision, Patrick aquired another bed and a custom axel and started cutting.
The original bed came off and was cut off just aft of the wheel well, the frame was modified with a "C-Notch so that the truck could sit much lower than stock and a new frame extension of around 27 inches was added to carry the additional length of the lenghtened body and the extra axel.
The second bed was cut just in front of the wheel well and very carefully ground down to match the cut on the original bed. Then with astonishing precesion, the two sections were stiched together to make the completed body. Custom body mounts were fabricated so that the bed would properly mate with the chassis.
Air adjustable Shocks were added to keep the tag axel on the ground and to allow for ground height adjustment,
A standard no window camper shell was already part of the truck before the body extension but now it was too short. So it was cut in half and 27 inches were added requireing not less than a gazillion yards of fiberglass and many gallons of resin. This being the uglyest part of the modification it was ultimately hidden with the custom cloth top.
The original hood was replaced by a 1993 version, The door handles were shaved, a modified grill, chrome wheel well lips and an air dam were added to achive a "what is it" look to the truck.
A coat of rasberry with blue pearls paint was sprayed and buffed and polished and generally made to glow.
A custom White interior was added including a white granite dash and instrument panel complimented by an all white granite engine compartment.
The Bed area was decorated with Neon Bubblers, fish Ivy and plush carpet and a killer sound system filled the rear deck area. Finally, custome built oversize offset rims and forty series tires allow it to set down almost to the ground.
All modifications except upholstory and final paint were done in the family garage and the truck was driven almost daily througout the construction process. The HRD TNDM license plate was a gift from Pats Girl friend Kim. (shown below)
