Off Road 4x4ing and Racing
One of my favorite pastimes is Off-Roading. I have 4x4 in California, Arizona, Colorado and Utah. Some of the prettiest 4x4ing was in Colorado: Cinnamon Pass from Lake City to Silverton, Engineering Pass from Ouray to Lake City, and Imogene Pass from Ouray to Telluride. I also have a fond place in my heart for the 4x4ing in Canyon Country near Moab, Utah. I found some of the "trails" in the Moab area very challenging.
Besides the recreational 4x4ing, I also enjoy Off-Road Racing. I worked with La Rana Desert Racing for six years doing Timing and Scoring until they closed their doors. I recently wrote a new Timing and Scoring System Software program which is used by COMPCOMM. COMPCOMM does all of the Timing and Scoring for SCORE International.
I own both a Nissan 4x4 and a sand rail. See you on the trails.

Rally Racing
Every year the SCCA rolls into Palmdale for the Rim of the World Pro Rally. I have helped out for the last few years doing Rally Information. I get a real kick out of interfacing with the race teams and helping them out any way I can. The Rim of the World communications staff is made up of volunteer amateur radio operators from the "local" area.

Land Speed and Drag Racing![]()
Ah, the need for speed. I have a friend, Mike Manghelli, who really knows what this means. He has set many class records, only to break them again. Mike is one of the very few people who has gone over 200 mph (and this is on a course much longer than the 1/4 mile drag strip).

Circle Track and Road Racing
What can I say, after all the yard work is done, nothing beats sitting in front of the TV watching a good NASCAR race.
