These Videos are meant to be watched by you, the Substitute Teacher, in order to prepare you to better understand the position of Substitute Teacher. These videos should be watched before arriving in class for maximum effect.

STAND AND DELIVER

An East L. A. Math Teacher (Jaime Escalante, played by Edward James Olmos), inspires his 18 students to excel in Calculus and do well on the National Advances Placement Exam. This video shows how a Teacher acts, and also, how inadequate Substitute Teachers can sometimes be, when Jaime falls ill.

TEACHERS

This comedy is about a burned out Teacher (Nick Nolte) teaching at a School where one of the Substitutes is a refugee from a Mental Institution. A hard look at our Education System, the people trying to make it work, those preventing it from being effective, and the kids caught in the middle.

FUTURES

Jaime Escalante, the man portrayed in the movie STAND AND DELIVER, takes the viewer into his classroom for 15 minute segments. Each section tells how Math relates to a different field of employment.

A veteran police detective (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is forced to go undercover as a Substitute Teacher in order to trap an elusive criminal.
