The Mural, Modoc, & The Officer
The following information came directly from Rich to my wife Karen, prior to Rich's death
Modoc, was my first mustang, mounted police horse, and who was Abby's predecessor (Abby, who was given to us by Rich and Cheryl) when Rich, Steve , and I originally began the mounted patrol unit at Bishop P.D.
Modoc is on the side of Bishop Police Department's Mural entitled, "Dangerous Arrest," where my (and our) late friend, partner and artist, Richard Perkins, immortalized Modoc, within the scene where the horse is spooked at the hitching rail by the gun-play.
Then there is, "Officer Plumley"(black coat) in the mural....
(If you need a clue... pan back up and down from the mural to Nick, below) and there's more...Maybe that sloppy posture of the "bad guy" is Bru....
I think you can figure it out from what was transpiring at the time of the painting.
St. Nicholas and I (right photo). Nick came out of the same herd gather area as that of Modoc. I first day that I saw Nick was 6 years to the day that we lost Modoc.
Look at Modoc, Nick, and the horse in the mural for all of the similarities (Officer Plumley too)......

The reasons for my revealing this information are deeply personal and by no way meant as boastful, arrogant, or about me. A great weight has been lifted by not having any reasons to hold this information anymore and closes a chapter.
